Exposition Gerhard Richter

                  Photo : Ab kommenden Sonntag, 18. Mai in der Fondation Beyeler: GERHARD RICHTER Gerhard Richter (*1932 in Dresden, lebt in Köln) ist der wohl bedeutendste Künstler unserer Zeit. In den sechzig Jahren seiner künstlerischen Tätigkeit hat er ein Œuvre hervorgebracht, das sich durch thematische und stilistische Vielfalt auszeichnet. Die Fondation Beyeler widmet ihm die bisher grösste Ausstellung in der Schweiz, in der erstmals als Serien, Zyklen und Rauminstallationen realisierte Werke aus allen Schaffensperioden vereint werden. Zu sehen sind sowohl figurative Arbeiten wie Porträts, Stillleben und Landschaften als auch abstrakte Werke, für die der Künstler aus einem wechselnden Formen- und Farbenrepertoire schöpft. In the sixty years of his career, he has produced an oeuvre distinguished by the variety of its themes and styles. The show at the Fondation Beyeler is the largest ever devoted to the artist in Switzerland, and brings together – for the first time – works created as series, cycles and rooms from every period of Richter’s career. It includes figurative portraits, still lifes and landscapes, and abstract paintings in which the artist has drawn upon a changing repertoire of shapes and colors.
